Last month, we celebrated Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month with an incredible event hosted by the CenterPoint Energy Asian Professional Network (CAPN) ERG. Trang Le, owner of Lena's Asian Kitchen, Tao La of Kim Son Restaurant, Vanarin Kuch of Koffeteria and Suu Khin of Burmalicious shared stories of their culinary journey while vendors showcased various foods and products. From amazing flavors to enriching conversations, it was an event that embraced the spirit of diversity and unity.

The CenterPoint Energy Foundation is proud to support the MACV Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans to help meet the needs of Veterans experiencing homelessness in the state. The Foundation grant will renovate 11 units, install new windows for the entire building and help complete the project this year instead of over multiple years. We look forward to residents being able to have a safe, affordable and energy efficient place to call home.
We are thrilled to announce a transformative renovation project made possible by the incredible support of the CenterPoint Energy Foundation! 🎉 On May 22nd, 2024, MACV proudly received a generous grant of $500,000 aimed at renovating a 30-unit supportive housing property in Minneapolis. This marks a significant milestone in our historic housing expansion efforts, specifically targeting Veterans with limited housing options. In July 2023, MACV acquired a former skilled nursing/rehabilitation property on LaSalle Avenue with a vision to convert it into a safe and dignified supportive housing program. Thanks to the substantial support from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation, we will be able to improve 28 units of housing that will serve as a haven for Veteran tenants. This initiative stands as the largest residence in MACV’s portfolio, dedicated to Veterans facing the greatest challenges in securing stable housing. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and excited about the positive impact it will have on our Veteran community. Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this meaningful journey!

We restored 99% of impacted customers in less than a week after a destructive derecho in Houston and are committed to restoring the remaining customers still without power with the same level of attention and care. Crews continue working more localized repairs and remain focused on a safe restoration.
