Meet RapidAuthor, a Cortona3D integrated authoring suite for creating: - 3D interactive parts catalogs - 3D/2D interactive manuals - 3D interactive job cards - Interactive training courses It all begins with your source data: 3D CAD geometry, associated Bill of Materials, 2D illustrations, and PLM data. You can take all of your source geometry and import it into the RapidAuthor suite of tools to use for technical authoring. RapidAuthor will optimize the data, remove intellectual property and create interactive 3D animations. So you can move them around, zoom, rotate, etc. You know, a picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is even better. RapidAuthor becomes a single reconciled data source where you can centrally manage all of the resources for faster production, update, and distribution of technical publications. The beauty of RapidAuthor is that you only need to import the data once then you can create any type of technical publication — parts catalogs, technical manuals, work instructions, and training materials. Once you are done with the authoring process, you can publish that document in an array of different formats, from web-ready HTML5 to 2D PDF, or even reuse the content in augmented reality applications. There are a lot of nice things about RapidAuthor which come out of the box: support of industry standards (DITA, s1000d, ATA), semi-automatic data update, automatically generated 2D illustrations, automatically generated text, and many other features which makes the authoring and publishing process less labor-intensive.
