The ancient Greeks, captivated by symmetry, often utilised this visual technique on temple rooftops. Employing slanted angles, they crafted the illusion of curved surfaces  

Aristotle postulated that if you cross the index and middle fingers while touching an object such as a pen, it feels like you're holding two pens instead of one.
