The Kyle and Jackie O Show is known for pushing the boundaries of good taste.

And KIIS FM management had to step in on Wednesday after co-hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson went too far during a live segment.

The program was momentarily pulled off the air before 7am because Kyle had started reading out an explicit text message a stranger had sent Jackie.

The message was so graphic that producers were forced to hit the 'dump button'.

After Kyle and Jackie's live broadcast was suspended, a pre-recorded message began playing.

'This station you've been listening to has been dumped,' said a booming voice.

'This means someone has said something inappropriate and is getting in trouble. The broadcast will return in seconds.'

It is unclear what Kyle said that was so obscene KIIS FM management was forced to pull the show from the airwaves.

He had been reading aloud a message a male listener sent to Jackie, which began with a description of what the man would like to do to her in a hotel room.

Earlier in the segment, Kyle revealed that his newly-single colleague had even been receiving anonymous sex offers from women.

Jackie announced her split from husband Lee Henderson on October 26, 2018.

The former couple, who were married for 15 years after meeting in the early 2000s, had actually separated 'several months' before.

The Kyle and Jackie O Show airs weekdays from 6am on KIIS 106.5 in Sydney
