He hasn't been seen on the soap since 2015 when he appeared on a four-episode arc, but now he's said to be back for, 'a long run,' according to the report.

Jackson also confirmed the news himself in a social media post, which read, 'I’m returning to @generalhospitalabc this summer! Excited for the journey to continue...'

The post also included a brief video where he told his 170K followers, 'Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I will be returning to General Hospital this summer as Lucky Spencer.'

'Super excited and can't wait to dig in and see what's going on in Port Charles. Excited to see Genie Francis, obviously, and so many others,' he continued.

'Just wanted to say thank you to all of the fans over the years. Your persistence and love has certainly played a part in all of this,' he admitted.

He also thanked executive producer Frank Valentini, 'and everybody at ABC for welcoming me back,' and he was, 'super excited' and 'just sending much love.'

'I guess I'll be seeing you all fairly soon,' Jackson concluded in his video message, which got over 5K likes on Instagram alone.

Jackson won't be the only alum returning to Port Charles, with another iconic GH character returning in August.

Craig played Morgan from 2012 to 2016, when his character was seemingly killed with a car bomb.

Morgan did ultimately return in the form of a "vision" seen by Maura West's Ava back in 2018, though no details about this upcoming return were given.
