Roy Keane has warned 'cocky and arrogant' Jude Bellingham to 'be careful' in the future.

The England star has been the centre of attention this week after an action-packed game against Slovakia that saw him save his side's chances at Euro 2024 before almost getting himself suspended.

He produced a stunning overhead kick to take his side's last-16 tie to extra time before Harry Kane scored the winner, but it was his celebration that left eyebrows raised.

The 21-year-old could be seen asking 'Who else?' after netting, before he was mobbed by his team-mates on the back of his second goal at the tournament in Germany.

Roy Keane, however, speaking on the Stick to Football: The Overlap Special, brought to you by Sky Bet, didn't see the positive side of the celebrations.

'If you scored a big goal, to me that wouldn't even cross your mind', he said of Bellingham asking 'Who else?'. 'You'd be with your team-mates.

'Scoring goals is the best part of football but I just can't imagine that you'd have something in your head to say, "Who else?" That's the bit where I'd be going, "Hold on a second". It's a bit cocky and arrogant.

'Bellingham has to be careful with his celebration after scoring against Slovakia. You're always walking a fine line; you don't want it to seem like it's all about you.'

Co-host Ian Wright, however, fought the Real Madrid man's corner on the podcast.

Questions have been raised over his showings at the tournament so far, with Bellingham, though scoring two important goals, relatively quiet during games.

He has been continuously backed by manager Gareth Southgate, however, and could benefit from an expected system change against Switzerland.

'I'm not concerned about Jude Bellingham at all,' Wright said. 'For him to play the two games before Slovakia, to continue to show and work hard, scores the winner... he's somebody that will continue to try and get it done. He's 21.

'A personality like Jude, and the way he's been managed up to this point with the psychology and everything he's done, he's in a place where he reminds me of an American athlete, how they're so invested in themselves and have so much faith in themselves. We, as English people don't accept that kind of person, don't accept that kind of, "Wow, he's having himself", and so he should.

'He's shown in adversity that he's going to go and do it, he believes in himself, so why then does he have to go into an interview afterwards and go the other way? You've got to project if that's where he is, and you can deal with the side-looks from pundits and journalists saying he's this and he's that.'

Gary Neville, meanwhile, added: 'I think it’s fine to demonstrate any emotion and I think all football players have an ego, all sportspeople have an ego. You have to, to be on that pitch.

'But is he popular with his team-mates, and is he grounded and not letting anything get carried away? Those are the two things. If he's in control of everything, popular with his team-mates and not getting carried away, go as you like.'

Bellingham, meanwhile, has been handed a suspended one game UEFA ban and fined £25,000 for his controversial gesture against Slovakia.

The ruling means he is available for England's crunch Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland, with European football's governing body opening an investigation into the gesture on the back of the win over Slovakia on Sunday after Bellingham pretended to grab his genitals.

UEFA wrote to Bellingham to ask him to explain his actions, while the organisation also contacted the Slovakia FA for their reflections on the alleged offence. It was alleged that the gesture was made towards the Slovakian bench, which Bellingham has denied.
