Bros star Matt Goss reveals terrifying stalker ordeal: Singer says he has been left 'very emotional' and avoiding social media after person got 'very, very close' to his home before being arrested

Bros star Matt Goss today revealed he had been the victim of a stalker who got 'very close' to his home before being arrested.

The '80s popstar said he felt 'very emotional' and had been avoiding social media because of the harrowing ordeal.

He suggested the stalker, who he did not identify, had been targeting him for some time.

Speaking about his experience for the first time to podcast host Rylan Clark, he said: 'I have a case with a few issues going on. Somebody was just arrested.

'So the reason I've been quite quiet on socials is because I've had a pretty major stalker and they got very, very close to where I lived.'

Goss, who starred on Strictly Come Dancing two years ago, told BBC podcast Rylan: How To Be In The Spotlight that the nightmare had taken its toll on him.

He continued: 'It's been very emotional, if I'm honest. But they basically came over and it turned. It turned a bit weird.

'That's been resolved. I can't speak about any of the details but somebody was arrested.'

The pop star, whose hits include So You Think You Can Dance, also revealed he had found a fan lying underneath his bed.

He said: 'I sat down on the bed, I just looked down and I was like ''argh''. It was like Rylan teeth and Jim Carrey combined.

'It wasn't like ''Hey man get off my leg''. It was f***ing terrifying. I really wish it was a macho moment but it wasn't.

'To this day I always check under the bed and the shower.'

The 55-year-old returned to the UK in 2022 after an 11-year residency in America.

Discussing his decision to return in an interview two years ago, he told the Independent: 'I've been talking about wanting to come back for a long time.

'There's a familiarity here that just resonates with me, and the way I'm received in this country, it's like I'm part of the family, and that's a really wonderful and much-needed experience.

'Eleven years is a very long run to have a residency and do four shows a week. Emotionally, physically, that was starting to feel a bit different. I was really proud, and I also knew that I wanted to live more.

'I wanted to go play frisbee in the park, play football, walk my dog. I want to be able to have a local pub and friends I can connect with like that, just a different kind of lifestyle.'

Goss has previously spoke of his desire to marry his girlfriend, Chantal Brown, who was previously married to actor Paul Nicholls.
