Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has been slapped with a professional conduct complaint that diversity-hiring policies at his office amount to 'unlawful discrimination' against straight, white men.
America First Legal (AFL), a conservative action group led by former Trump administration officials, filed papers against Bragg and his colleagues to New York's Attorney Grievance Committee, a professional standards body.
The group's 10-page letter alleges that Bragg's office favors job applicants from 'diverse' backgrounds, including women and ethnic or LGBTQ minorities, at the expense of white male jobseekers.
It comes on the heels of Bragg's successful prosecution of Donald Trump over hush money payments to a porn star — for which the former president will be sentenced on July 11.

'We should expect that those who carry out law enforcement are held to the highest legal compliance standards,' Epstein added in a statement.
Bragg's office did not immediately answer DailyMail.com's requests for comment.
The grievance committee said it cannot comment on the complaint, as its review and investigation process is confidential.
It's the latest in a series of lawsuits and complaints aimed at diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), policies in American institutions.
Advocates of DEI say it helps get more women and minorities into colleges and workplaces, but critics say it ends up hurting straight, white men.
According to AFL, Bragg's office uses favors minorities when hiring for some 50 staffers each year.
The complaint highlights pages from the Manhattan DA's website and other documents that showcase its DEI policy.
One says the office is 'committed to the recruitment, hiring, retention, and promotion of a diverse staff.'
Another says it's 'dedicated to building a diverse workforce that reflects … the diversity of the communities we serve.'
Those applying for law clerk jobs at the office must disclose their race, ethnicity, gender, says the complaint.
Applicants even get a drop-down menu that asks their 'LGBT' status — which only offers 'bisexual,' 'gay,' 'lesbian,' and 'trans,' as options, says the document.
There's no option to select 'straight' or 'heterosexual,' it adds.
The complaint does not present data about the backgrounds and identities of actual hires at the office.

All complaints with the grievance committee are reviewed and some are investigated.
They can lead to attorneys being dismissed or admonished, though complaints do not typically relate to hiring practices.
AFL, which is led by former Trump adviser Stephen Miller, made a similar complaint against Bragg's DEI policies with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the New York Department of Labor earlier this month.
Bragg became a target for conservatives over the first successful prosecution against a former US president, which many observers noted was the least consequential of the cases against Trump.
The progressive DA stoked outrage again last week when his office let dozens of anti-Israel protesters arrested at Columbia University in April off the hook, dropping criminal charges against them.
He is considered one of the leaders of a new 'progressive DA' movement, one of several funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros.
In February, it was revealed that Bragg has downgraded a staggering 60 percent of felony cases to lesser charges in the last year, data from his office shows.
The DA reduced 938 of the most serious charged in 2023, 834 of which were brought down to misdemeanors.
Under Bragg, the percentage of felonies downgraded has increased to 60 - up from 53 percent under his predecessor.
His team defended the figures stating the office's performance is on par with other New York boroughs and higher when it comes to felony convictions.
Bragg, who campaigned on a promise of criminal justice reform, issued a controversial 'Day One' memo after taking office stating he would only seek prison time in the most severe cases.
It comes amid fury over criminals being allowed to roam the streets of the Big Apple, which continues to be rocked by a violent crime wave.
Since being sworn in on January 1, 2022, the DA has also declined to prosecute 14 percent of all arrests, compared to just nine percent in 2021 when his predecessor was last in post.
However, overall arrests screened by his office was up by more than a third compared to 2021.

But this will be of little comfort to victims of the most serious crimes, with the data showing that Bragg's office has secured a felony conviction just 52 percent of the time, down from 65 percent in 2021.
Bragg has been criticized for his soft-on-crime policies, which include calling on prosecutors to ditch felony armed robbery charges and instead charge suspects with petit larceny and not seeking carceral sentences for criminals.
Crime in New York City, has decreased by .032 percent since before the pandemic, but the decrease is not enough for many who feel unsafe in Manhattan.
MAGA operatives have accused Bragg of having a political agenda.
'Alvin Bragg is a disgrace. He cares more about targeting Joe Biden's political opponent than protecting New Yorkers from rapists, murderers, and robbers.' Alex Pfeiffer, spokesman for Make America Great Again Inc said.
Meanwhile victims of crime have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of justice.
The AFL complaint is part of a growing number of suits and filings against DEI practices since the US Supreme Court's landmark June 2023 ruling to end affirmative action in college admissions.
The conservative legal action group has filed more than 15 lawsuits and more than 30 complaints to a US civil rights agency.
Lawsuits have claimed that hiring and recruitment decisions made around both jobs and fellowships at large companies are biased against white workers.
Advocates of DEI schemes say they bring more black, brown, female, and queer talent into offices and colleges and raise morale across the board.
But critics say they're a 'woke' virtue-signaling exercise that fosters backlash discrimination against straight, white men.
