Country artists Tracy Byrd and Marc Chesnutt will throw a Labor Day concert in their hometown of Beaumont, Texas. Monday’s (Sept. 1) show at the Southeast Texas Entertainment Complex will feature several other acts, including Hootie & the Blowfish, the Marshall Tucker Band and noted Zydeco musician Wayne Toups.
“Me and Chesnutt have looked for an opportunity to perform together in our hometown for a long time, and we’re happy that we were finally able to pull it off,” Byrd says in a statement. “Our goal is to give the hardworking families of Southeast Texas a great time on their day off from work.”
Along with their own separate sets, Byrd and Chesnutt will also perform together during the show. Others performing will be Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers, Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band and Zona Jones and Swing West.
Tickets to the show range from $15 to $40 and are available via Ticketmaster. Those who purchase tickets online are automatically eligible to win a guitar signed by Byrd and Chesnutt, as well as other memorabilia autographed by other artists on the bill.
A portion of the proceeds from the daylong event will benefit Jared Clayton. The son of a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department officer, Clayton was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.
